At the Naturale Clinic we used Kacowicz © Method's Peelings. Peeling of modified phenol is a true revolution in the medical aesthetics. This powerful peeling is not new, but the performed modifications transformed it in a current technique.

The phenol has been used in peelings since 1960, the new formula modified by the researcher and physician Dr. Kacowicz "tamed" the phenol, letting it safer for the doctor applying it and for the patients that receive it. Actually it was not just a developed Peeling, but a method  of  peelings, each one with a different indication and besides the phenol peelings, there is other specifically developed for certain problems.

The Kacowicz © Method includes treatments for all of the depths and problems that can be treated with peelings. We have then available, from very superficial, superficial, medium and deep peelings, body peelings and the newest, for spots, the Urucum peeling.

Very superficial Peeling:  Alkapeel

The Very superficial Peeling, the Alkapeel is a simple procedure used along with other treatments.

It is called Thursday peeling  because the patient obtains an improved skin aspect immediately and may resume his/her activities right after the procedure. It also gives the renewed skin a pleasant fresh sensation of cleanliness. The following day the patient is prepared for any of his/her social activities. The patient may go for walks, go to the clubs, to parties, and trips either to beach, the mountain or the country; the treatment does not stop the patient from doing his/her activities.

Of course, this is   a very superficial peeling that, in fact, cleans the skin, eliminating the dead cells of the most superficial layer, without, however, reaching the deepest layers. It improves  superficial stains and the roughness and  desquamation of the skin. It also results in a more glowing skin and enhances the aspect of the skin altered by the cold, wind, sun and make-ups.

Another important aspect of this peeling is that because it  removes the most superficial layer of the skin, which is the also the most impermeable, it prepares the environment for the other skin rejuvenation medicines such as the retinoic acid, vitamin C, AHA and  lightener.  The preparations can penetrate the skin much faster and they also show better results.

 The biweekly repetition of the procedure for some months brings a lingering benefit for the appearance of the skin. Alkapeel is a new peeling concept. It is different from the other ones that are usually acid. This is an alkaline peeling.

ALKAPEEL is a peeling that with its physicochemical characteristic of being alkaline, acts on the fat of the superficial layers of the skin. It drags  the superficial cells, providing a superficial and instantaneous peeling. It performs a quite efficient microdermabrasion. It does not cause a inflammatory process, neither hyperpigmentation or depigmentation. It is adequate for all of the procedures and aesthetic treatments of the skin. It makes the horny layer thinner, resulting in a larger permeability of the skin, facilitating the penetration of other active medicines . It can be used in the preoperative period  of plastic surgeries  to increase the elasticity of the skin. It can also be used before other deeper peelings, optimizing results. It is an initial treatment that enhances the results of the other ones. It can be applied biweekly;  in some cases, it can be performed weekly. It is not indicated for Acne or irritated  skins.

Superficial Peeling:  LightPeel Plus -   The peeling of light

Lightpeel, the peeling of light is  a simple procedure.

It is a Superficial Peeling. Therefore, it is restricted to  the epidermis. It is based on the pyruvic acid, a widely known peeling agent. It restructures the sustentation fibers, improving the collagen, the elastin and the reticuline by  an indirect property of the peelings, which is to supply stimulus to the renewal of the skin components. The surface of the skin also has its aspect enhanced  and the result is a fresher, firmer and more uniform  appearance. This peeling can be applied separately or according to the method of sequential peelings.

The "Peeling of Light" is able to improve the general appearance of the skin. It is a 6 day treatment, but that can be used with the sequential technique. 

It is performed at the clinic, without the need of anesthesia. After the peeling, the patient goes  home and the desquamation begins. This phase will last 6 or, in some cases, more days. After the desquamation,  the skin already has a stretched aspect. It is also lighter, without roughness and more rejuvenated. 

Medium Peelings:  Midpeel and Neopeel

Medium Peelings are part of the Program of Light Facial Rejuvenation, because they present good results when combined with other techniques of Botox, Bioplasty  and the conditioning treatment  of the skin. The advantage is that they involve less risks and they have simpler Post – Peeling. Also, they are suitable for the lightest cases of deterioration of the skin.

Peelings of Phenol are very popular. However, they require careful handling, anesthesia and hospital stay. The doctors have tried to "tame" the peeling of Phenol for a long time, in order to make it more efficient and to eliminate its handling difficulties.

A new concept of catalyzed Phenol, that   intends  to increase the penetration of the Phenol and to reduce undesirable effects, has brought a new stimulus in its use. Midpeel and  Neopeeling  are a revolution in Peeling of Phenol, and even with all the old and existent techniques of Peelings, they bring surprisingly good results  with easier and safer application. It is not necessary to stay at the hospital, neither anesthesia. The patient may return home the same day after the procedure and while in the clinic, he/she is accompanied by the physician. Midpeel and Neopeel are medium Peelings of Phenol, with easier application and  a post- peeling that is from 3 to 6 days with desquamation. 

We have used Neopeel and Midpeel to follow the Catalyzed Phenol concept and as an alternative which is still less difficult than the Multipeel Phenol Light , the deep peeling. Many of the skin lesions can be treated with this technique.

It is the most popular and most used peeling in our clinic due to its cost – benefit relation. It is not able to reach the same results of the deep peeling, but it shows important results in a simpler way. The great difference is in the application and recovery. While the peeling of deep phenol requires a more careful and complex application and involves a more difficult recovery process, the medium peelings have simpler application and easier recovery.

A new approach has been used at the Naturale Clinic:  the sequential peelings.  Although we know that a sequence of medium peelings will never be a deep peeling, we also know that a sequence of medium peelings is more than an isolated medium peeling. Then, for patients with deeper lesions and who do not want to submit to  the difficulties of the procedure  and recovery time  of the deep peelings, we can use a sequence of medium peelings. In this alternative, we use Midpeel or Neopeel  3 or  4 times in intervals of 30 to 60 days. With that, although we don't reach the same results of the deep peeling, we can obtain a considerable improvement in a lighter and simpler way.

Peeling of Deep Phenol-   Deep Catalyzed Phenol  

 Deep Peelings reach Dermis and they are able to treat conditions that reach the Deep Reticular Dermis. They are the ones that present the most surprising results, but with larger degree  of difficulty in the procedure and in the Post-Peeling. And they present larger risks of complications. They are for important aging of the skin, and never for the lightest ones,  which  are better treated with the techniques of the Light Facial Rejuvenation and the  medium Peelings. For the advanced cases of aging of the skin, the Peeling is almost the only alternative.

 Naturale Clinic uses this new methodology of peelings of catalyzed Phenol,  each one for a different kind of problem.

How the  Peeling of Deep Phenol Works

The freckles and the superficial melasma, as well as the light roughness of the skin are in the epidermis. The deep or mixed melasmas, the post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation, the actinic keratoses , the superficial wrinkles and the acne  reach the epidermis and the dermis. The deep wrinkles, the laxity and the acne scars are alterations of the dermis.

Then, depending on the affected place,  the depth of Peeling can be more efficient. The patient can choose this procedure that will give the best results.

The Phenol Light Peeling, Kacowicz Method, reaches the deepest layers of the skin, correcting the maximum of lesions possible by  peelings techniques.

The wrinkles are removed and the laxity of the skin is reduced  because it stimulates collagen and causes the retraction of the skin, that  is firmer and without wrinkles.

It is known by several names: Multipeel Phenol Light, Multipeel Catalyzed Phenol, Deep Peeling of Phenol, peeling of Attenuated Phenol. But in the Kacowicz method, there are  3 levels of peeling of deep phenol listed below, with their official names and in depth order.

The most serious cases of aging of the skin, where the whole extension of the face is taken with wrinkles, stains, laxity and furrows, need a peeling action that reaches the deepest. Multipeel of catalyzed Phenol Light, offers very good results, not requiring hospital stay or surgery. However, it  should not be considered a simple procedure. Careful post-peeling is necessary, with dedication of the patient to the treatment and the physician's detailed attention during whole the process of renewal of the skin that takes a period of about 14 days. 

The application of the deep peeling

This Peeling is applied with the modified phenol solution. The attenuated phenol penetrates the skin and breaks the proteins, altering its structure from the amino acids in each protein. The cohesion of the skin is altered and the skin is deeply modified by a chemical action of the phenol. The modifications of the new peeling  maintain the maximum action where it is requested, reducing the action, the distance and the toxicity. It is applied after a citric acid solution and a layer of a porous silicone.

The action of the peeling reaches what is called the basal layer, that it is the responsible for the regeneration of the skin. This layer is also eliminated, depending on regeneration cells that are present in the abundant pilous follicles of the skin, to promote the emergence of the new surface of the skin.

The whole superficial layer of the skin is eliminated; the superficial blood vessels are reached. The aged superficial skin is practically liquefied. Water is produced starting from the blood vessels, and a great edema (swelling ) appears in the face. It is a normal part of the treatment. This liquid interrupts the action of the phenol, that is removed along with secretions and the silicone by the physician.

A new basal layer is produced starting from the pilous follicle. This is the layer that will recover the skin and produce the rejuvenated aspect.

The skin rejuvenates; the dermis recovers with the formation of the collagen, which is  the most solid clue; the epidermis rejuvenates, giving a rejuvenated aspect to the skin. The result is  less wrinkles, less laxity, less roughness, less furrows, less stains, glow and firm skin.

Peeling for stains:  Peeling de Urucum or Bleach-Pulse Urucum

Peeling de Urucum or Bleach-Pulse Urucum  is a creation of the Kacowicz © Method, especially prepared for the treatment of stains of melanin on the skin, as the melasma. The Treatment is applied  with the sequential method.

An average of 6 peelings are performed with intervals of 30 days. Lighteners are used before and in the intervals between the application of the peelings. It is an innovative method, because it modifies the colorof the stains, reducing  their intensity, while the despigmentatnts  reduce the stains.

It is very difficult to cure the melanin stains, which is not even treated as an illness. We cannot intend the cure of the stains of the skin provoked by the melanin, but  the control of it. They appear with pregnancy, excessive exposure to  the sun,  inadequate use of cosmetics, contraceptives, stress, etc. A very important factor is the genetic factor. Peeling de Urucum or Bleach-Pulse Urucum is an innovative treatment, that it is part of the Kacowicz © Method. . Intend to clear the skin, it controls the excessive production of melanin, without,  however,  eliminating it  completely. They use anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory substances, among them Urucum Bixina, that are similar to  the melanin of the skin. Studies performed in Europe demonstrated that the Peeling de Urucum or Bleach-Pulse Urucum  is several times more potent to clear the skin than the widely known lighteners used  so far.

Body Peeling:  Body-peel 

Peeling to eliminate spots  on the hands, caused by the age

TheTreatment of the  aging of the hands that produce stains, rugosity and laxity of the skin does not have  be restricted to  the stains. The whole skin should be treated in order to obtain a homogeneous and silky aspect, without stains. We used Body Peel.  This  peeling is performed at the clinic. 

Peeling for Stria

There is no complete and definitive treatment for stria. However,  the aspect can be improved with the use of Alkapeel. It promotes the subsequent penetration  of retinoic acid, that activates the production  of new cells. Later, physical abrasion  and Body Peel can be applied to stimulate the growth of a new epidermis on the scar tissue of the stria. With this technique, we obtain a great improvement of the aspect.

Peeling for  stains of the Body

The Acne can cause dark stains, called inflammatory hyperpigmentation. They are an aesthetic discomfort and are usually present on the backs and on the lap. After the treatment with lighteners, Body Peel can be applied to improve the results
